Khao Sok – Krabi – Koh Mook
Located in Surat Thani province, less than 2 hours from Ao Nang, set off off the beaten track to discover the sublime Khao Sok National Park, in total immersion in the heart of the jungle in all its splendor: a piece of the world covered in virgin forest. Karst mountains, sublime lakes, impressive caves, waterfalls, gibbons, encounters with elephants and tree houses… a host of activities await you for an extraordinary stay in the heart of nature.
Incredible Krabi! This coastal province boasts countless natural attractions that never fail to amaze. Add to this white sand beaches, waterfalls, coral reefs, clear waters, caves and numerous jungle-covered islands. It’s no surprise that tourism has been booming for several years now. Like Phang nga, Krabi is famous for the fascinating limestone karsts rising above the azure waters.
Koh Mook (or Koh Muk) is famous for its magnificent emerald grotto, which can only be reached by swimming – a real pirate’s lair! With very few resorts and still untouched by mass tourism, this charming little island is inhabited mainly by sea gypsies. It’s the ideal starting point for discovering the paradise islands to the south of Koh Lanta, including Koh Hai (or Koh Ngai), Koh Kradan and Koh Rok.

From Phuket airport at 9:10 am (Flight TG201), welcome by our driver and transfer to Khao Sok (approx. 3-hour drive). Settle into your bungalows (from 2pm) and relax.
Lunch on your own.
Around 2:30 pm, meet your guide for a bamboo raft (or canoe) trip on the Sok River: enjoy the scenery while a paddler manages your boat and points out any life forms you come across along the way (mangrove snake sleeping on a branch, macaques playing in the water, colourful kingfishers darting away…).
Dinner at leisure in the village.
Overnight in Khao Sok village.
Meals: Breakfast, dinner.
English-speaking Thai guide
You meet your guide at 8.30 a.m. He’ll take you to meet some happy elephants… These elephants have the great good fortune to live without restraint (apart from the ban on devastating the neighbors’ fields!), so if you take good care of them by feeding them well, they’ll let you stroke and observe them and follow you through the palm grove to the edge of a small river. If you’re lucky, they might even want to take a dip – so don’t disturb them by getting in the water with them: it’s much more satisfying to witness their pleasure!
Return to the hotel around midday.
Lunch at leisure.
At around 4.30pm, a unique jungle experience awaits you, offering an authentic insight into nature. While exploring the area with a guide, an assistant prepares a delicious evening meal using bamboo crockery and traditional jungle techniques. After dinner, the guide takes participants to explore the surrounding area to observe nocturnal life, such as insects, toads and spiders. This excursion allows you to discover the natural beauty of the jungle while learning about the local flora and fauna.

Our driver will be at the reception of your hotel in Khao Sok around 9:30 am. After about 1h30 of driving, you’ll arrive at the lake pier where your guide and boat will be waiting for you.
While taking a few detours to show you the beauty of the lake, the captain takes you to the floating bungalow complex where you’ll spend the night. Settle into your floating bungalow and enjoy your first swim in the crystal-clear water…
After an excellent Thai lunch, return to the water and explore the surrounding area by canoe, take a siesta or simply enjoy the scenery…
In the late afternoon, take a boat safari along the banks. Enjoy the scenery under the changing light at the end of the day while your guide tracks down any trace of life… Macaques, semnopithecines, hornbills and eagles are looking for their last meal of the day.
Back to the floating bungalows as night falls. Lake fish, curry and other Thai delicacies await you for dinner.
Overnight in your floating bungalow.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch

After an early wake-up call, probably to the sound of gibbons (at least to the sounds of the jungle), the guide will suggest a second safari (boat departure: 7 a.m. – you can help yourself to coffee first!) along the riverbank, after which breakfast awaits you. This is the best time to observe wildlife… With a bit of luck, you may spot a group of macaques on their way to drink, a monitor lounging on a branch, semnopithecines jumping from tree to tree, maybe even gibbons in concert! (Anything is possible, but nothing is guaranteed, of course!)
After a hearty breakfast, your guide will take you on a hike to discover the jungle from the inside. The hike you choose will depend on the location of your floating hotel, how busy it is at the time, and your aptitudes and desires; it lasts between 2 and 3 hours (less if desired), and may include a visit to a cave or access to a viewpoint. In any case, it’s sure to be full of discoveries of all kinds…
Then, after a final swim, your captain will take you to the lake pier at around 11am. Transfer by private vehicle to Klong Mueang, close to Ao Nang, Krabi’s seaside resort (approx. 2h drive). On the way, the driver will stop for a free visit to Wat Bang Ton Temple, dedicated to Rama X the new King of Thailand, then to a local restaurant for lunch.
Settle in and relax in your bungalow.
